NetVibes Cookies, Privacy Policy, and ToS

I’m doing research about what to include (and not include) on website ‘Terms of Service (ToS)’ and ‘Privacy Policy’ pages. When you research this topic (searching via Bing or Google), you’ll probably find several helpful articles that explain why these pages are needed on most modern websites, and some hints at what to include on those pages.

While those ‘how to’ articles might be helpful for the ‘average small business’, I wanted to do my own original research, and look at the ToS and privacy policies of websites from a variety of industries.  Over the next few weeks, I will be researching and reviewing a somewhat random sampling of these boring (but necessary) pages.

NetVibes Cookies

The NetVibes cookies page describes how to customize cookie settings for various browsers, such as Chrome, Firefox, Opera, Safari, etc. If you want to avoid receiving cookies from a specific website, it explains how to do that. It provides helpful links to the tutorial/support pages for the various browsers so you’ll know how to disable, delete, or re-enable cookies in your favorite browser.  Additionally, a table is provided that describes a list of cookies they normally use, their retention period and their purpose.

To be continued…
